Laurentiu Anton
Co-President
Laurentiu is pursuing a PhD in EECS. Prior to MIT, he served as the program manager for the Iceland School of Energy, a lecturer in electrical engineering, and the administrative director for the Sustainability Institute and Forum, all at Reykjavik University. Laurentiu has worked as a consulting engineer and project manager with solar, wind, and battery assets. He holds a BSc in Honors Mathematical Physics from the University of Waterloo, an MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering from Reykjavik University and an MSc in EECS from MIT. Outside of work, Laurentiu enjoys reading, fitness, and nutrition. He can be spotted at meetings awkwardly taking out his food scale to track his intake.
Thomas Lee
Co-President
Thomas is a PhD candidate in MIT’s Institute for Data, Systems, and Society focused on optimization methods for energy systems and markets. He conducts research in Professor Andy Sun’s lab within Sloan / Operations Research Center, and through the MIT Energy Initiative. Previously, Thomas worked in electricity trading at BETM (part of Mitsubishi Corporation) covering power/gas futures and financial transmission rights; and developed energy storage valuation models for Amp Energy’s global investment portfolio across UK, Australia, and US. He started his career at AQR Capital in quantitative global macro strategies. He holds Bachelor's degrees in Economics (Wharton) and Computer Science, and an MS in Electrical Engineering – from the University of Pennsylvania.
Rosie Keller

Rosie is a 2025 MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. She is especially interested in climate tech innovations to increase climate resilience in emerging markets and how to tackle the challenges in scaling these solutions.
Ted Phan
Vice President of Marketing
Ted is a 2025 MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, he worked as a strategy lead for a sustainable agribusiness in Vietnam. Ted is passionate about innovative solutions to combat climate change, and he views green energy as a key pillar in this fight, which motivated him to join MITEC. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies, cooking Vietnamese dishes, and keeping up with pop culture.
Becky Xu
Vice President of Marketing
Becky Xu is a second-year Master's student at MIT's Department of Urban Studies and Planning, specializing in sustainability and data science. With a background in architecture from Cornell University and extensive experience in data analytics, climate resilience, and design, Becky excels at translating complex data into actionable insights and developing impactful products. Her professional journey spans climate tech startups to public planning agencies, where she has spearheaded projects driving sustainability. As the VP of Marketing for MITEC, Becky is passionate about promoting sustainable solutions and engaging partners and communities in climate and clean energy initiatives.
Luis Carlos
Vice President, Community & Education
Luis Carlos is a PhD student in EECS. Before MIT, he worked on robotics for subsistence farming in Central America. He then shifted to the energy sector, co-founding a company providing services for power producers in Latin America and the Caribbean. His current interests lie at the intersection of energy equity and the technical challenges of implementing renewable energy in small island countries. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, and an MBA from MIT Sloan.
Hiya Gada
Vice President of Community & Education
Hiya is an AeroAstro PhD candidate in the Electric Energy Systems Group with Prof. Marija Ilic. She earned her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in systems and control engineering, from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Her research interests lie in applying control theory to address current challenges in power systems stability, particularly in the context of integrating renewable energy like solar and wind. Beyond her academic pursuits, she enjoys singing-songwriting, playing board games, reading books, and exercising, if nothing but to accompany friends.
Shreyaa Raghavan
Vice President of Community & Education
Shreyaa Raghavan is currently a PhD student at MIT's Institute for Data, Systems, and Society. Her research interests are in using optimization and deep learning techniques to optimize transportation systems and make society's infrastructures more sustainable and robust. She previously researched learning algorithms to improve the efficiency of solar cells at the MIT Accelerated Materials for Sustainability Lab as well as photovoltaic forecasting at EPFL. She has been involved with MITEC as one of the Energy Conference directors (2023) and the club's Co-President (2023-24).
Lokesh Sangabattula
Vice President of Budget & Finance
Lokesh is a DMSE PhD student in Prof. Abate's research group at MIT. He investigates the mechanisms of geological hydrogen production through FeO-water reactions. Before joining MIT, he conducted research at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid, focusing on the synthesis of nanomaterials using laser-induced chemical reactions. He previously received a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay
Ayush Kedia

Ayush is pursuing Sloan Fellows MBA at MIT Sloan. Prior to MIT, Ayush has 13 years of experience in the international energy sector, having lived in India, France, and the US. His expertise primarily relates to commercial roles such as sales, product management, business development, B2B marketing, and Go-to-Market strategy. In his last role as a Director in Schneider Electric, Ayush led the global sales of a strategic incubator project, providing end-to-end solutions to drive efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability in the manufacturing industry.
Outside of work, Ayush enjoys participating in outdoor sports and challenging himself to push his limits, such as running a marathon. He is a big food enthusiast and loves to explore local cuisines whenever he travels to different countries.

Adam Ali

Adam K. Ali is a Graduate Research Assistant at the MIT Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research (CEEPR), where he is analyzing the impact of voluntary carbon-free energy procurement on electricity costs and greenhouse gas emissions. Concurrently, he is pursuing a Master of Science in Technology and Policy (TPP) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Before joining MIT, Adam worked as a Project Engineer for a startup, SafeKick, in the Energy Industry. His work involved project management, engineering support, and data-driven analysis to optimize drilling procedures. Adam graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and a minor in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, where he was awarded the McLaughlin Medal of Excellence and the University Medal.
Jack Albright

Jack is a Leaders for Global Operations graduate student pursuing a Masters in Chemical Engineering and MBA at MIT. Prior to MIT, he worked as a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman, helping manage projects and stakeholders across a range of air and sea defense projects. He is interested on the development of capital infrastructure to support the incoming climate tech boom and the inter-collaboration necessary between government, financiers and ventures.
Shreeansh Agrawal

Shreeansh Agrawal is a second-year masters' student at MIT pursuing an MBA and an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He graduated from Amherst College with degrees in Mathematics and Art History. He worked for three years as an economic consultant at The Brattle Group, where he specialized in decarbonization models and investment insights. Passionate about advancing emerging technologies and navigating the rapidly-changing energy grid, Shreeansh is committed to driving progress to reach sustainability goals.
Emily Neill
Vice President of External Relations
Emily is a third-year undergraduate studying Physics and Nuclear Science & Engineering. She is interested in developing nuclear technologies to grow the global clean energy supply. Emily conducts research at the Plasma Science and Fusion Center to study fusion plasmas as well as plasmas in the context of laboratory astrophysics. Emily is excited to grow the MITEC alumni network through her role as VP of External Relations.
Lara Booth

Lara is a PhD Student in MIT EECS, where she works on accelerating optimization for power systems with machine learning. Originally from the UK, she attended MIT for undergraduate and has since spent multiple years living in Berlin, Germany. She enjoys rock climbing, hiking, traveling, and making her own knitwear.
Greta Lawler
Vice President of Social
Greta is a second year undergraduate studying Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in Chinese. She serves as the Undergraduate Chair of MIT Science Policy Initiative and is a member of French House. Over the summer, Greta interned with Lightshift Energy, where she helped design and develop battery energy storage systems for grid-scale application. Prior to Lightshift, Greta also interned at Mantel Carbon Capture, where she specialized in writing Community Benefit Plans for federal grant applications. Greta is particularly interested in the intersection of technology and policy in advancing energy transition goals.
Trent Weiss
Trent is a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemical Engineering advised by Fikile Brushett. In the Brushett lab, he is primarily developing prototypes for lithium-ion convection batteries, with a broader interest in the roles electrochemistry can play in the energy transition. Trent also has an array of industry experience through internships and employment with ExxonMobil, Shell, and AspenTech. He previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech. When not in the lab, Trent enjoys skiing, hiking, playing soccer, and just about anything that will get him outside.
Chris Johnson
Chris is a Leaders for Global Operations Fellow at MIT, pursuing an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an SM Mechanical Engineering from the MIT School of Engineering. Over the summer he completed his graduate research fellowship at the Nissan Motor Company, studying how outbound logistics constraints could be integrated with production planning to reduce finished vehicles inventory. Prior to MIT, he worked at Stolt Tankers, building LNG tankers in China, drafting corporate & sustainability strategies, and developing analytical tools for trading desks. Chris is passionate about commercializing the new technologies that asset intensive industries desperately need to decarbonize. In his free time you'll often find him searching for new dirt roads to explore on his gravel bike.
Maddie Larson
Maddie is a 2026 MBA candidate at MIT Sloan School of Management. She served in the US Navy for nearly 9 years before coming to Sloan, completing tours in San Diego, CA and Italy. During her time in the Navy, she completed a Masters in Public Policy, focusing in energy and environmental policy, which informed her decision to come to Sloan after the military to pivot into the renewable energy space. She is passionate about figuring out solutions to help renewables development meet increasing energy demand in order to help reduce carbon emissions. In her free time, you'll find her on the side of a mountain or enjoying Cambridge farmers and flea markets.

Allison Kammert
Allison is a 2025 MBA Candidate at MIT Sloan focused on energy and climate tech. Prior to graduate school, Allison spent time working as a product manager for an NYC-based insurtech startup and on the microgrid strategy team at a solar developer based in Mumbai, India. This summer, Allison is interning at a distributed scale solar and battery storage development company based in NYC. She is excited about merging her interests in distributed energy resources and software to develop solutions that accelerate the integration of renewables into our electric grid. Outside of MITEC, she enjoys creative writing, running, and exploring cheap eats in Brooklyn and Boston.
Sofia Karagianni
Sofia is an MBA student at MIT Sloan School of Management focusing on all things climate and finance. Prior to MIT, Sofia worked as a finance policy expert for Cleantech for Europe, a network of Europe's foremost climate investors and climate scale-up companies aiming to help Europe reach its green industrial goals. She is a qualified lawyer (Athens Bar Association, Greece) and before joining Cleantech for Europe, she worked on EU climate and financial policy with leading international law firm K&L Gates in Brussels. Sofia is a member of the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion and has co-founded two initiatives focused on women’s economic empowerment.
Andrew Grabowski
Andrew Grabowski is a second-year System Design and Management Master's Student at MIT focused on Sustainable Aviation. He is a researcher in the Lab for Aviation and the Environment, working with Florian Allroggen and the Zero Impact Aviation Alliance to drive sustainable aviation initiatives. This summer, Andrew worked at World Energy managing the deployment of low-carbon solutions in a variety of different sectors. Before MIT, Andrew was a product manager for System Engineering tools, with a focus on optimization and certification at The MathWorks. In his off time, Andrew enjoys sailing and running around the Charles River.
Rebecca Sandercock
Becca is a second-year MBA candidate at the MIT Sloan School. She is the Co-President of the Sloan Design Club and a DJ for MIT's non-commercial radio station. Last academic year, she was a semifinalist in the international Turner MIINT impact investing competition. Prior to Sloan, she led strategy and insights generation at clothing rental brand Nuuly. She is thrilled to be part of the MITEC team and is particularly passionate about circular systems, waste mitigating technologies, and materials innovation.
Jayant Wunnava
Jayant is a first-year MBA candidate at MIT Sloan with an interest in early-stage climate-tech entrepreneurship. Prior to Sloan, he worked across manufacturing and operations topics at McKinsey & Co. and Merck in energy, chemicals, and biopharmaceuticals. In his free time, he enjoys long-distance running, reading biographies, and eating extra dessert. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University - New Brunswick.
Jennifer Turliuk
Jennifer Turliuk is an entrepreneur, climate tech investor, author, speaker and technologist. Recently, she was Partner of Climate Capital Syndicate (one of the most active funders of climate tech startups), and Partner and Co-Instructor of Climate Angels (an educational program about climate tech angel investing). Previously, she co-founded an education company, bootstrapped to self-sufficiency, raised VC funding, and exited through acquisition. She has been a board member, consultant, and mentor for entrepreneurs. She graduated from Queen’s University’s BComm program and Singularity University’s Global Solutions Program (at NASA Ames). In her spare time, she enjoys musicals, dancing, mindfulness, and wind sports.
Rory Burke
Rory is a 2025 MBA Candidate at MIT Sloan focused on climate tech, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. During the summer, he worked as a tech-to-market summer scholar with ARPA-E’s fusion energy portfolio. Prior to his MBA, Rory spent five years at Booz Allen Hamilton supporting federal clients across additive manufacturing, microelectronics packaging, and space technologies. Rory holds a M’Eng from Penn State in Additive Manufacturing and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Notre Dame. In his spare time, he likes to fire up his Ooni pizza oven, hit the gym, and (poorly) sing karaoke.
Matthew Hoel
Matt Hoel is a 2026 MIT Leaders for Global Operations Fellow, pursuing an MBA from MIT Sloan and an MS in Mechanical Engineering within the Energy Science and Engineering research area. He is particularly interested in developing distributed wind and tidal energy technologies and increasing the resilience of existing energy systems. Prior to attending MIT, he served as a US Marine Corps officer, MV-22B Osprey pilot, and instructor. He holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
Tamra Olin
Tamra is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to MIT, Tamra was on the founding team at Green Project, a decarbonization startup focused on increasing access to emissions data for early-stage companies, which was acquired by ACT Commodities in March of last year. Most recently, she worked at UP.Lab, enabling the circular economy for EV batteries in collaboration with Porsche. Tamra received her BA from UC Berkeley in Environmental Economics and Policy. In her free time, Tamra enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and biking, and most recently, she has been playing way too much Polytopia.
Andres Joven
Andres is an MBA candidate at the MIT Sloan School. Prior to MIT, he received his BS in Business Engineering and BA in Finance, from ITAM in Mexico City. He has worked in business development, strategy, and operations roles across different industries. Most recently, Andres launched several LATAM markets for a digital remittance fintech service, impacting thousands of immigrants. At Sloan, Andres will be pursuing the Sustainability Certificate and is interested in entrepreneurship opportunities in the CleanTech industry. In his free time, Andres enjoys road cycling, sports, and outdoor activities.
